Bells Candies

Born Annie Bell Christian on December 25, 1929 in Marigold Mississippi. In 1947 she married Mr. Johnnie Lee at the age of 17 and had 16 children.
My mother loved her family and she loved to cook. She grew and canned her own vegetables and fruit. In her garden she would always plant a row of Peanuts.  She would harvest the peanuts and roast them in the oven (my father loved roasted peanuts). On those special occasions mom would make Peanut Brittle. The aroma of the brittle would fill the house and bring smiles to our faces.

Today when I make brittle the memory of mom in the kitchen brings a smile to my face and It reminds me of how Sweet life is.

Bells Candies is named in my mom’s memory for the love  she had for her family and the joy she had when cooking. I hope you enjoy Bells Brittle and take time to enjoy the sweeter things in life.
